Our Social Ministry Committee meets when needed. We make sure the food that is donated by our church members is delivered to the appropriate food pantry, usually the Long Island Council of Churches in Freeport or the Lutheran Social Services New LIFE Center in Uniondale. Occasionally, we plan and hold fund-raisers such as the Books, Etc. Fair to raise money for rebuilding after Hurricane Katrina, a baby shower for the New LIFE Center Infant Layette Program or a Many Faces of Mac-n-Cheese dinner.
The Soup to Nuts Soup Kitchen (formerly the Freeport INN)
Together with our Women of the ELCA we prepare a meal for 150 guests at the The Soup to Nuts Soup Kitchen (formerly the Freeport INN) once a month. If you are interested in joining our committee or simply helping out with a fund-raiser or cooking, please contact Christa Tuccillo at (516) 221-1096.
