Recently the leaders of Saint John committed to a long range planning strategy to strengthen the congregation and prepare us for the future. As with so many other things in life, ministry has changed in the last twenty years. We are still committed to the core of our mission, which is to proclaim God’s message of justice, mercy, forgiveness and unconditional love to the world. We carry out our mission by our words and our actions, but we need more people, resources, and innovative ideas in order to accomplish it.
Long range planning involves all the various groups in the congregation, particularly evangelism, which is reaching out to those who are seeking a church home; stewardship, which encourages the sharing of our time, talents and treasure; worship and the ways in which we share in Word and Sacrament and give thanks and praise to God; and hospitality, whose goal is to make Saint John an inviting place where all feel welcome.
As a congregation, we have always felt blessed by God and we want to share those blessing with others, both here in our community and with others who we may never meet face-to-face. If you have innovative ideas to share, please contact us either through the church council, a head of a committee, or Pastor Cline – names and contact information are on the website. Remember that our door is open and we are a welcome place for all.
